Friends of Multnomah County Library 50th Anniversary Used Book Sale, with over 65,000 donated books and materials, will take place at the Lloyd Center DoubleTree Hotel Event Center, 1000 NE Multnomah St. Friday-Monday, October 28-31. Members-only Pre-Sale (become a member for $25!) Friday 6-9 pm General Sale: Saturday, Oct. 29, 9am - 5pm Sunday, Oct. 30, 10am - 4pm,  Educators get 50% off with ID Monday, Oct. 31, 9am - 3pm, 50% off or $25 a box (boxes provided) Books: Most children’s books $1.00, pocket-sized paperbacks start at $1.00, hardcover books and soft cover books start at $2.00. Audiovisual Materials: Vinyl records start at $1.00, DVDs start at $2.00, CDs start at $1.00. Comics, sheet music, pamphlets and maps start at $1.00. Collector’s Corner & Top Shelf: Open Friday and Saturday ONLY. Besides a selection of unusual and vintage books, you'll see hard-to-find books by iconic children's book authors and illustrators, scholarly/academic titles, lots of books on literature as well as a collection of books on Japanese naval warfare (tons of photos and diagrams) and a trove of Oregon high school and college yearbooks. We will offer our usual excellent cache of DVDs and paper ephemera. And, something very new: Top Shelf books--stock that we would normally have sold in our Central Library store. These are carefully chosen selections of recent fiction and non-fiction in pristine condition. Please note: Scanners, Smartphones and Electronic Devices: Usage Allowed only during General Sale (not during Friday's Members Only Pre-Sale), at book sale tables, and on individual items. Items may not be set aside to be scanned later.  If seen electronically scanning books on Friday night, you will lose membership and be asked to leave without purchasing your books. Shop with ease! As you fill boxes with books you intend to buy, you can store them in our Book Depot for purchase later. There is easy TriMet and MAX access, we offer $3 parking vouchers for the hotel garage, and the Event Center is fully accessible, including parking.
